What Does God Define As Masculine? How Do You Measure Up?

Everything God creates, Satan counterfeits. He has to do this because he cannot create anything. John 10:10 tells us that:

The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy; I came so that they would have life, and have it abundantly.

God created man in His image. You are an exact etching (imprinting) of God. Now, just to be clear, we are all reprints of our original father, Adam. He was the very first man and thanks to Satan tempting he and his wife, Eve, our humanity has been warped by sin.

That sin has caused us to look less like God and a lot like the world. This is why Jesus gave himself as the final atonement for sin and provided a path back to God the Father. But while we're on earth, Satan keeps contorting what being a man actually is. So, let's go back to the book for the only true definition of Godly masculinity.

Masculinity has been a topic of discussion and debate for many years. The concept of masculinity is often associated with traits like strength, courage, leadership, and a willingness to protect and provide for others.

While these traits are important, they don't necessarily define what true masculinity is. We explore the concept of Godly masculinity and what it means to be a Godly man.

Godly masculinity is grounded in a biblical understanding of manhood. The Bible tells us that men are created in the image of God (Genesis 1:26-27) and are called to reflect His character in the world. This means that Godly men are to be compassionate, just, humble, and loving, just as God is.

One of the most important qualities of a Godly man is his love for God. A man who loves God will be committed to living a life that honors Him. He will spend time in prayer, reading the Bible, and seeking to obey God's commands. This love for God will also spill over into how he treats others. A Godly man will seek to love and serve those around him, just as Jesus did.

Another important aspect of Godly masculinity is the willingness to take responsibility. A Godly man recognizes that he has a role to play in the world, and he takes that responsibility seriously. He takes responsibility for his actions and the consequences that come with them. He is also willing to take responsibility for others, such as his family or those in need.

In addition to taking responsibility, a Godly man is also a servant leader. He recognizes that leadership is not about power or control but about serving others. He leads by example, seeking to inspire and encourage those around him. He is not afraid to get his hands dirty or do the hard work that is required to serve others.

Another quality of a Godly man is self-control. He recognizes that he is not perfect and that he is prone to making mistakes. He seeks to control his thoughts and actions, resisting temptation and the things that would lead him away from God. He also seeks to control his emotions, responding in a way that is measured and appropriate in any given situation.

A Godly man is also a man of integrity. He is honest and transparent in his dealings with others. He does not try to manipulate or deceive others for his own gain. He is trustworthy and faithful, keeping his promises and commitments.

A Godly man is also a protector. He seeks to protect those around him, especially those who are vulnerable. He is willing to put himself in harm's way to protect his family or those in need. He does not shy away from conflict or difficult situations but faces them with courage and determination.

Finally, a Godly man is a man of faith. He trusts in God and has confidence in His plan for his life. He recognizes that he is not in control and that his ultimate destiny lies in God's hands. He lives with an eternal perspective, knowing that this life is temporary and that his true home is in heaven.

In conclusion, Godly masculinity is not about being macho, dominant, or controlling. It is about reflecting the character of God in the world. A Godly man is a man who loves God, takes responsibility, is a servant leader, exercises self-control, has integrity, is a protector, and has faith. By living out these qualities, a Godly man can make a positive impact on those around him and honor God in all that he does.
